BAU, Jan 27: Don’t let Bau become a ‘dark’ place, says Tasik Biru assemblyman Dato Henry Harry Jinep.
According to Henry, collaboration between leaders, government agencies, the district office, the local council and village development and security committees (JKKKs) in Bau is vital to making the town livelier.
“We cannot allow Bau to be a ‘dark’ place, so as leaders, we are collaborating with government agencies, the district office, the local council and JKKKs to always find something new for the people.
“By doing this, we can attract people from other nearby areas like Padawan and Penrissen and even those from Indonesia to come and contribute towards the vibrancy of Bau town and the economy,” he said after launching the new Bau Town gateway last night (Jan 26).
The gateway stretches about 200 metres along Jalan Datuk Temenggong Salau and will also become a focal point for celebrations like Chinese New Year, Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Gawai Dayak, and Christmas.
The deputy transport minister said the launching of the gateway was made even more meaningful for the people in Bau as it coincides with the 205th anniversary of Bau town’s existence. — DayakDaily
