KUCHING, Sept 10: Friends of Sarawak Museum (FOSM) in collaboration with Sarawak Museum Department will be bringing a monthly series of talks from September to December 2023 titled “Sarawak Snapshots—Museum Talks 2023” to promote appreciation for Sarawak’s heritage.
According to a press statement, the talks are expected to be held at Borneo Cultures Museum by expert speakers who have many years of research and work experience in their subject.
The talks which have been scheduled are as follows:-
September 17 — ‘Documenting The Visible and Invisible Culture of the Punan Bah—A 50-Year Endeavour’ by Dr Ida Nicolaison;
October 29 — ‘Searching for Sarawak in British Museums: Charles Hose and the Impact of Colonial Collecting’ by Dr Jennifer R Morris;
November 19 — ‘The Niah Caves’ by Dr Franca Cole; and
December 3 — ‘The Museum Klierieng: Its Story’ by Mr Jayl Langub
