KUCHING, July 21: Sarawak Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, who is in good health and currently overseas says he will return to Sarawak once his doctor permits him to do so.
Sending his greetings from overseas, he conveyed his appreciation and gratitude to Sarawakians who remembered him in their prayers.
“I am currently in good health and still abroad. I was advised by the doctor to rest and return to Sarawak a little later after getting the doctor’s permission.
“And finally, I would like to express my appreciation and gratitude to all the people of Sarawak who have prayed for my health and well-being all this time,” said Taib in his Sarawak’s 60th Independence Day Celebration message.
This Sarawak Day celebration to him is meaningful because it is “a gesture of gratitude and commemoration of the ongoing struggles of the people of Sarawak to develop the Sarawak” which all Sarawakians love.
He expressed his confidence that under the leadership of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, Sarawak will achieve its goal as a developed region by 2030 because of the implementation of the Post-Covid 19 Development Strategy (PCDS 2030).
At the same time, he expressed his hope to see the people of Sarawak continue to remain united in peace and harmony and be able to celebrate unity in diversity, because it is the aspiration of the Sarawak government that all Sarawakians may progress and move forward as one, which he described as “the key to achieving success”.
“In conjunction with Sarawak’s 60th Independence Day Celebration, I would like to wish all the people of Sarawak a Happy Independence Day,” said Taib. — DayakDaily
