KUCHING, July 26: Swinburne University of Technology will be introducing new courses and pathways in law, cybersecurity, data science, industrial design and software engineering at its Sarawak Campus.
Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg also revealed that for law studies in the university, students are allowed to undertake one-and-a-half-years of the programme at the campus here before completing the remaining course at the main campus in Melbourne, Australia.
Abang Johari, who is Pro-Chancellor of Swinburne Sarawak Campus, said this in his opening address at the Swinburne Sarawak Council 36th Meeting at his office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia here today.
He said Sarawak laws including the land law, Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) and Native Customary Land (NCR) law would be among the subjects offered under the programme.
Established 23 years ago, Swinburne Sarawak Campus has a population of 4,000 students, including 1,057 new students enrolled last year.
Earlier in his address, he welcomed Datuk Amar Jaul Samion, the new Chairman of Board of Directors, who took over from Tan Sri Mohd Morshidi Abdul Ghani. — DayakDaily
