SIBU, Aug 25: A large part of Sibu town will be affected by water supply interruptions starting 9pm on Friday.
Sibu Water Board (SWB) in a statement said they will be carrying out work in three areas, with the first area involving a 450mm MSCL Pipe interconnection work near the roundabout of Sibu-Bintulu Road.
Water supply will be interrupted commencing 9pm until work is completed. The areas affected are Lorong Azalea, Jln Bunga Berjaya, Jln Kong Nien, Jln Sg Belalang, Batu 12-24, Jln Ulu Oya, Lorong Sanhill, Lrg Sanhill Barat, Lapangan Terbang Sibu, Eco Garden Residences as well as the entirety of Sibu Jaya and Jalan Sengan.
The second would be diversion of the 600mm MSCL trunk main at Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce from 9pm.
SWB said the areas affected include Lorong Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce 40, 44, 46, 48, 50 & 52, SMK Bukit Assek, Ulu Sg Merah Lane 12 to Lane 63 and Kemuyang areas.
The third will involve repairs and replacement of a sluice valve at Jalan Brooke Drive (Opposite KPJ Sibu Specialist Medical Centre) from 10pm onwards.
During this period, residents in the following areas will experience low water pressure or no water at all: Deshon B/S water supply area (Jalan Matu, Jalan Arau, Jalan Kulas, Jalan Nuri, Jalan Bayan, Jalan Apollo, Unimas Sibu Campus, Federal Block Office, Jln Kwong Ann, Jalan Jengkai, Sg Merah SESCO Station, Balai Bomba Sg Merah, Indoor Stadium, Kolej Laila Taib, Jalan Ulu Sg Merah) and all nearby areas, Sg Merah and Teku area (Jalan Kwong Ann, Kpg Nangka, Jalan Quarry, Jalan Ding Lik Kong, Jalan Igan, Jalan Teku Lama, Jalan Disa, Jalan Rantau Panjang, Jalan Wawasan, Jalan Indah, Jalan Penasu & Pasai Siong) and all nearby areas and Sibu West B/S water supply area (Bawang Assan, Melangan, Bukit Besai, Lebaan, Sg Apong and Bkt Lan) and all nearby areas. — DayakDaily
