S’wak’s new police commissioner makes courtesy call on Premier

KUCHING, Oct 3: Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, today received a courtesy visit from the new Sarawak Police Commissioner, Datuk Mohamad Zainal Abdullah, at the Satria Pertiwi Complex here.

According to TVS, also present was the director of the Sarawak Security and Enforcement Unit, Abdul Wahab Rahim.

Mohamad Zainal officially began his duties on Sept 26, replacing Dato Mancha Ata, who retired on Sept 29.

Prior to this, he served as Deputy Director of Investigation and Legal at the Criminal Investigation Department, Bukit Aman, and had previously led the Dang Wangi and Perak Tengah District Police Headquarters.

He holds multiple degrees in law, administration, and human resources, and completed a management programme at the Harvard Business School in Harvard University.

The 47-year-old Lawas native was also promoted to the rank of Commissioner, making him the youngest person ever to hold the position of Sarawak police commissioner. — DayakDaily
