KUCHING, Dec 2: Tyng Dance Academy bagged one gold and two bronze medals at the International Dance Organisation (IDO) dance competition in Thailand, held on Nov 25 and 26, 2023.
Elaine Chai humbly clinched gold in the Folklore Senior category and added a touch of bronze in the Classical Ballet Solo category.
Her colleague, Irelene Chan, also earned a bronze in the Classical Ballet Solo category.
The duo was among 850 competitors from 13 countries participating in the international competition.
“Two days of heartfelt competition and our dancers stood tall, making Sarawak proud. We express our sincere thanks for the privilege of representing our beloved State and Malaysia globally!
“We are now preparing for our next championship in Hong Kong at the end of this month,” said the Academy’s founder and principal, Chan Tyng Tyng, in a recent statement. — DayakDaily
