KUCHING, April 1: Sarawak’s own Taylor Louise received her World Finals Diploma and Special Mention from the Sanremo Junior Committee and Jury at the Sanremo Junior World Finals 2025 in Italy, placing Malaysia among the top five countries in the prestigious Sanremo Junior World Finals’ 10-12 years old category.
In a press release, Taylor expressed appreciation to those who have supported her, describing her experience of competing in Sanremo as nothing short of extraordinary.
With over 1,000 talented young singers vying for a spot, Taylor’s achievement in reaching the finals is a testament to her dedication and passion for her craft, and a proud moment for both Sarawak and Malaysia.
“I’m honoured to represent my home country, Malaysia, and to be part of this incredible event. Receiving the Special Mention is a heartfelt honour that recognises the unique qualities of my performance, and it motivates me to keep growing as an artist,” she said.
In addition to the recognition at Sanremo, Taylor received an official invitation to perform at the Macedonia International Music Festival 2025.
She was presented with her certificate by Toni Aleksovki, the festival director. Taylor was one of only seven countries, including Malaysia, to receive this prestigious invitation, further cementing her rising star status in the global music scene.
Expressing her gratitude, Taylor said, “I want to thank my fellow Sarawakians and Malaysians for all their love, support, and cheers. Although I did not achieve a higher placement, I am committed to improving and continuing my journey. Every step I took on that stage was inspired by my love for Sarawak and my dedication to representing our community.”
Taylor also extended her appreciation to her father for sewing the dress she wore during the competition, as well as to her teacher, Sabrina, who has been a source of guidance.
“To all the winners at the Sanremo Junior World Finals, congratulations! Your achievements inspire me to keep striving for greatness. I look forward to growing, improving, and continuing my musical journey,” Taylor said.
The press release added that Taylor’s journey to the Sanremo Junior World Finals has been a reflection of her talent, determination, and love for her roots.
