Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, in a speech text read by Sagah at the signing ceremony, said the introduction of the academic course underscores the Sarawak government’s commitment to providing comprehensive educational opportunities from primary to tertiary levels.

“By ensuring that our students have access to a broad spectrum of educational programmes, we are equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in various fields,” he said.

According to a statement issued afterwards, MEITD said the primary area of cooperation under the MOU will be the provision of higher education, with a particular emphasis on legal education and training.

This includes the development of comprehensive legal education programmes that are tailored to meet the needs of students in Sarawak and the wider region.

Through these programmes, students will have the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge and practical skills in the field of law, thereby enhancing their career prospects and contributing to the legal profession. — DayakDaily
