S’wak Transport Ministry, Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia to explore collaboration opportunities

KUCHING, April 17: The Ministry of Transport Sarawak (MoTS) is looking to explore potential areas of collaboration with the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM).

In a statement today, MoTS said a discussion was held during a technical visit by its Minister Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin, together with his deputy Datuk Jerip Susil, and officers from the Ministry of Transport Sarawak (MOTS) to CAAM today.

The discussion also touched on civil aviation issues, airport communication equipment, and STOLports (Short Take-Off and Landing).

During the visit, the MoTS delegation received a comprehensive briefing on CAAM’s latest operations and development projects in Sarawak.

The delegates were also provided in-depth insights into search and rescue (SAR) operations and air traffic control.

They were also able to closely observe the tasks performed by Air Traffic Control Officers to ensure safe, smooth and orderly flight traffic operations. — DayakDaily
