KUCHING, Sept 15: Air quality in Sarawak showed further improvement this morning, with no monitoring stations recording ‘very unhealthy’ Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 9am, while Lubok Antu dropped into the ‘unhealthy’ category from ‘very unhealthy’ yesterday (Sept 14).
According to the Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB) Sarawak, Lubok Antu recorded an API reading of 127, joining Kuching (154), Samarahan (163), Serian (188), and Tebedu (143) in the ‘unhealthy’ category.
Several parts of Sarawak remained in the ‘moderate’ category, with API readings below 100.
These areas were Sri Aman at 80, Sarikei at 52, Sibu at 73, Mukah at 55, Kapit at 63, Bintulu at 54, Samalaju at 58, Miri at 56, ILP Miri at 52, Limbang at 58, Lundu at 74, Kanowit at 77, Lawas at 65, and Betong at 84.
Bario remained in the ‘good’ category, recording an API reading of 49. — DayakDaily
