KUCHING, Dec 18: Former plantation industries and commodities minister Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin and other Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) supreme council members who were suspended for internal party dispute must respond to show cause letters that will be submitted to them next week for their suspension to be lifted.

Party president Datuk Larry Sng said he had a discussion with two of the PBM supreme council members, namely Dato Chua Liam Chye and Mira Muniraa Abu Bakar, during the party’s disciplinary committee meeting yesterday (Dec 17), which led to their suspension being lifted and their positions reinstated.

“As for the remaining members who are still under suspension and had decided not to attend the meeting today (Dec 17), show cause letters will be sent to them by Monday (Dec 19).

“Failure to reply in writing within a week will be tantamount to their immediate expulsion from the party.

“Should they reply, I have instructed the disciplinary committee to resolve the status of those members before the end of the month,” he said in a Facebook post yesterday.

The remaining supreme council members are Zuraida, Haniza Mohamad Taha, Dr Daroyah Alwi, Rahimah Majid, Dr Sathiskumar Govindaraju, Muhammad Saiful Bahari Sahari, Na’im Brundage, Abdul Aziz Abdul Kadir, Zakaria Abdul Rahim, Roger Tan Seng Huat, and Albakri Salim.

They were suspended following their ongoing involvement in undermining the interest of the party and its leadership, where both Zuraida and Sng had been going back and forth over the party’s presidency in October this year. — DayakDaily
