KUCHING, June 27: Surati Rosli has been appointed Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Batu Kitang Women chief, announced PKR Women vice-chief Voon Shiak Ni today.

PKR Batu Kitang is a sub-branch of PKR Stampin.

Meanwhile, Voon said she had received from Surati about 100 new membership applications to join Sarawak PKR, with some of the applicants being former Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) members.

She said since Pakatan Harapan (PH) is the new government, PKR hoped to serve the people better.

That was why she planned to field more contacts on the ground by the setting up more PKR sub-branches, if possible in most of the villages, to provide a channel for the people to voice out issues affecting their villages.

Voon added that PKR Stampin would continue to work with the state authorities to solve the plights of Batu Kitang residents, just like what Sarawak PKR had been doing for the last 10 years.

“The welfare of the people shall transcend political affiliations. That is our modus operandi all along, and we will do the same whether we are the government of the day or just the opposition.”

She said PKR Stampin Youth deputy chief Jeffrey Mok Hui Chung, a lawyer by profession, would be the contact person and also the coordinator of Batu Kitang sub-branch. — DayakDaily
