KUCHING, Jan 21: Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) will be holding its Chinese New Year Open House 2020 on the first day of Chinese New Year this Saturday (Jan 25) at SUPP headquarters’ Sa’ati Hall.
During the press conference today, SUPP Chinese New Year Open House 2020 organising committee chairman Kho Teck Wan and Central Youth chief Michael Tiang announced that the theme for SUPP’s Chinese New Year was “Golden Rat March for Glory”.
The open house will start from 9.30am till 12 noon. Guests of honour Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg are expected to arrive at SUPP HQ at 10.30am and 10am respectively.
Members of the public are invited to come together to celebrate Chinese New Year 2020 at SUPP’s open house. Besides food, there will also be a lion dance, cake-cutting ceremony and Chinese calligraphy activities.
Preparations have been made to cater for a turnout of 3,000 guests.
Other invited guests include members of Sarawak cabinet, Sarawak political parties’ leaders, leaders from Chinese associations and community leaders. —DayakDaily
