MIRI,Feb 25: Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) reiterates that it was power wrangling within Pakatan Harapan that has brought down the government the coalition formed.

Expressing concern over the current political challenges facing the country, SUPP secretary gemeral Datuk Sebastian Ting in a statement today pointed out that Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) has nothing to do with the collapse of PH government.

“We would like to reiterate that the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) did not play a role in the breakup or collapse of Pakatan Harapan( PH), people are of the opinion that it is rather the internal differences of Pakatan Harapan that caused its breakup.

“As the matter has reached our Yang Di Pertua Agung, SUPP entirely leaves to the wisdom of our Yang Di Pertua Agung to interview all the MPS and thereafter to appoint the right person who in his judgement is likely to command the confidence of the majority of the members of the House of Representatives to be the Prime Minister of Malaysia,” said Ting.

The Piasau assemblyman said SUPP will continue to focus fighting for Sarawak and its people.

“As for SUPP, please believe me that SUPP is fighting for Sarawak and Sarawakians and we wish to reiterate that SUPP is a long time friend of Sarawak and Sarawakians all these years.

“That being said, SUPP still believes that for the good of the country, the best solution is to call for an early general election – the 15th General Election.

“Go back to the people and let them decide,” he said. — DayakDaily
