KUCHING, Oct 30: While Kuching enjoys fine sunny weather, Central and Northern Sarawak are experiencing heavy rain and thunderstorms until 5pm today.
According to an advisory of Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia) issued at 2.40pm, most districts in Sarawak including Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Meradong, Sibu, Selangau, Mukah, Tanjong Manis, Kapit, Belaga, Bintulu, Miri, Subis, and Limbang are experiencing wet weather.
The department said a thunderstorm warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity of more than 20mm/hour close to or expected to last for more than an hour.
It added that a thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period of not exceeding six hours for a single release. — DayakDaily
