Vietnamese woman pleads guilty to prostitution at reflexology centre in Kuching

KUCHING, Oct 30: A Vietnamese woman was sentenced to either pay a fine of RM3,500 or serve four months in prison by the Magistrate’s Court today for her involvement in soliciting sexual services at a reflexology centre in mid-October.

Coa Thi Hoai, 41, pleaded guilty to a charge under Section 372B of the Penal Code, which was read before Magistrate Syarifah Fatimah Azura Wan Ali.


According to the charge, she was accused of committing the offence at a reflexology centre at Jalan Petanak at around 11.10am on October 17.

According to the facts of the case, a police team conducted an operation codenamed ‘Op Noda’ at the reflexology centre due to suspected prostitution activities, which subsequently led to the arrest of the accused.

Various items were seized during the operation, including a closed-circuit television (CCTV) recorder, a calculator, task assignment notebooks, and a business license.

Investigations confirmed that the accused had been engaged in prostitution activities.

The prosecution was conducted by Inspector Ammarsoffi Yusoff, while the accused was not represented by legal counsel. — DayakDaily
