KUCHING, Nov 24: The Sunbear Festival will be happening at Sarawak Cultural Village this Dec 9 and 10.
The two-day festival will features headliners such as The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus from United States of America, Phum Viphurit (Thailand), FUR (United Kingdom), KILMS (Indonesia), Nimang Ensera (Sarawak), Nicestupidplayground (West Malaysia) and many others.
Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts (MTCP) Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said Sunbear Festival 2022 aims to be an annual festival which features international and local artists, a food parade, and local arts and crafts workshops.
“Sunbear Festival is expected to attract 8,000 music goers not only from Sarawak, but also from other parts of this region such as West Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand.
“More than 5,000 tickets have been sold and about 15 per cent of it are bought from outside of Sarawak,” he told reporters during a press conference held at Baitulmakmur Building 2, here today.
He added, apart from promoting a diverse set of local talent, the music and art festival will help to promote Sarawak tourism and Malaysian tourism as whole.
Sunbear Festival 2022 is organised by Solid Brick Event Company and LiveInKch, and supported by MTCP.
The festival will host a total of 44 performances from both local and international artists. Among them are Danila (Indonesia), Ramengvrl (Indonesia), SOG (Malaysia), Reality Club (Indonesia), Annale (USA), Airlifts, Alu Alu Band, A Million Evil Faces, Automatic The Remote, Babychair, Claudia, Forest (Singapore), Fuzz Muff, Naratu, No Good, One Buck Short, Plague of Happiness, Pinanak Sentah, Pink Cloud Summer, Purbawara, Polar, Rey Rey, Rina Hime, Roses Are Black, Sweetass, Secret Signal, Sovth China Sea, Take It Easy, and Yung Kai.
