SIBU, Jan 16: Max Voon dan Joelle Leong’s presence in Sukan Sarawak (Suksar) 2024 has grabbed everyone’s attention as the 11-year-old duo are among the youngest athletes to take part in the sporting event.
In a TVS news report, the duo will be representing the Central Zone (Sibu, Mukah, and Kapit) in the judo event.
Their trainer, Anderson Venus, proudly said that the two young athletes are not nervous but, instead, are excited to compete.
“This is their first time competing on a stage as big as Suksar. They are allowed to compete as the organisers have introduced a cadet category for judo,” said Anderson to TVS.
On the young duo, Anderson said they were introduced to judo from a young age by their families and are eager to win the gold medal for the Central Zone. — DayakDaily
