Sukma Sarawak 2024 Media and Broadcasting Centre to operate from Aug 9-24 across 9 locations

KUCHING, July 25: The Media and Main Broadcasting Centre for the 21st Malaysia Games (Sukma) Sarawak 2024 will be operational from Aug 9 to Aug 24 across various designated locations.

According to a Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) news report, Ukas director Samuel Simon announced that these locations include Kuching, Samarahan, Serian, Sri Aman, Betong, Mukah, Sibu, Bintulu, and Miri.

He stated that the official opening ceremony for these centres will be officiated by Sarawak Minister of Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development, Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, on Aug 10 at the Pandelela Rinong Aquatic Center in Petra Jaya here.

Samuel shared this information during a meeting of the Committee on Promotion, Media, Publicity, Communications, Broadcasting, Printing, and Journalism for Sukma Sarawak, held at the Committee Meeting Room 1 of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly here today.

Additionally, he mentioned that a special briefing session for all media personnel would be conducted by the Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Corporate Affairs, Information, and Ukas), Datuk Abdullah Saidol, on Aug 8.

The briefing is expected to gather around 700 media professionals from Sarawak, Sabah, and Peninsular Malaysia, who will cover the biennial national sports event.

Sukma Sarawak 2024 is scheduled to take place from Aug 17 to Aug 24, featuring 37 sports competitions across nine regions in the State. — DayakDaily
