KUCHING, Feb 10: Sarawak’s preparations as the host of the 21st Malaysian Games (Sukma) are going smoothly, with her sports facilities reaching 60 per cent completion and athletes at 70 per cent.
Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development (MYSED) Dato Gerald Rentap Jabu said there are only 190 days left until the commencement of Sukma.
“Therefore, we want all the preparations done as best as possible so that the competition runs smoothly.
“We will also review the final list of athletes who will represent Sarawak by the end of this month,” he said during the Chinese New Year (CNY) open house at Sarawak Federation of Chinese Associations for Kuching, Samarahan and Serian Division (SFCA) president Dato Richard Wee’s residence here today.
Sarawak has been chosen as the host for the 21st Sukma, scheduled from August 17 to 24. — DayakDaily
