MIRI, Feb 11: Even if the re-delineation for the Senadin constituency were to be carried out, it would not deter the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party’s (SUPP) efforts to field a candidate for the seat, says its assemblyman Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin.

Lee, who is also the Sarawak Transport Minister, said that Senadin is a traditional SUPP seat and that if the re-delineation process were to be carried out before the next Sarawak election, it would be up to the Election Commission (EC) to draw and study the boundaries.

“Senadin constituency is a huge area, contributing to about half of the Miri parliamentary population.

“It covers Sungai Tujoh in Kuala Baram, Desa Senadin, Tudan, Permyjaya, Vista Perdana, Riam Road, 11 villages, and three longhouses,” he said when met during his Chinese New Year open house at Dato Permaisuri Hall Permyjaya today.

This was in response to a question on the possibility of the re-delineation of the Senadin constituency for the next State election.
