KUCHING, July 16: Brunei Darussalam will participate in 11 sports at the 2024 Malaysian Games (Sukma).
Sarawak Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development (MYSED) Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said they are aquatic, athletics, chess, e-sports, fencing, karate, netball, pencak silat, sepak takraw, taekwondo and wushu.
“Brunei is participating very well because it is the nearest neighbour so it’s easy for them.
“We are also expecting that many of their supporters will come,” he said during a press conference held at a local hotel here today.
He also mentioned that he has paid a courtesy call to invite Brunei’s sports minister to the opening ceremony of 2024 Sukma on Aug 17.
The Sukma games will be held from Aug 17 until 24, in 9 divisions across Sarawak, namely Kuching, Samarahan, Serian, Sri Aman, Betong, Sibu, Mukah, Bintulu and Miri. — DayakDaily
