BINTULU, Feb 1: Despite the devastation caused by the floods, human kindness still prevails.
In a Facebook post, Bintulu MP Dato Sri Tiong King Sing expressed gratitude to volunteers from the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) Youth and Women wings, as well as those from Persatuan Persahabatan Zong Ho Bintulu, who stepped forward to help victims in disaster-stricken areas in Jade Garden, Desa Damai, and Bukit Orang.
“Looking at the devastated homeland, everything that was once fought for has been destroyed. The pain is truly indescribable; it’s full of deep sorrow and helplessness. The post-disaster reconstruction is a difficult and long process.
“Every effort you (volunteers) make is the warmest support for the victims, allowing hope to grow again amidst the rubble,” he said.
Additionally, he said, they have collected supplies to assist flood victims at the Sebauh temporary evacuation centre (PPS) including 500 packs of bread and 80 boxes of 1.5-litre drinking water.
“The storm may destroy homes, but it cannot destroy human kindness. Let us work together to rebuild a better tomorrow!” he said. — DayakDaily
