KUCHING, June 12: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) has urged the public to immediately stop circulating a video showing two men — with one claimed to resemble a federal minister — having sex.

PKR secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said in a press statement today that the party “firmly and consistently” rejects any form of dirty politics, especially after Pakatan Harapan (PH) had been chosen by the people on the spirit of reform agenda to develop the country.

“PKR urges for the circulating of the video which has gone viral and has been talked about by the people to stop immediately,” he said.

“The style and way of politicking such as this will not bring any benefit to the community and nation.”

PKR, as a component party of PH, would continue to focus on helping the federal government in formulating policies and programmes for the benefit of the people, he said.

According to several national news sites, pictures and videos showing two men getting intimate with each other were shared through the WhatsApp group and other social media platform earlier yesterday morning.

Meanwhile, an individual had this morning uploaded a video confessing his involvement in the alleged video that went viral yesterday (June 11).

In the 34-second video clip posted on Facebook at 2.32am, under the name of Haziq Aziz, he said: “I am Haziq Aziz, I hereby confess that I am the individual with (name of the alleged politician) in the video which has been viraled last night.”

He added that the video was recorded without his permission on May 11 during the Sandakan by-election in the alleged politician’s room at Four Points Hotel.

In his concluding remarks, he urged the Malaysia Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) to investigate the alleged politician on corruption claims.

When contacted, PKR National Women vice-chief Voon Shiak Ni said the confession made by the individual was self-explanatory of his motive and malicious intent in making the video clip.

“It only goes to show he himself is in the act,” she added. — DayakDaily
