LIMBANG, July 11: Hundreds of government employees in the Limbang Plaza building rushed out as soon as they felt the tremors from an earthquake measuring 6.6 on the Richter scale that hit Mindanao, Philippines today.

In a news report by TVS, the approximately one-minute tremor occurred at around 10am and was strongly felt by government employees on the 8th floor, which houses the Public Works Department (JKR) office, the 7th floor (Land and Survey Department), the 6th floor (District and Resident Office) up to the 5th and 4th floors.

According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) today, the earthquake occurred 154km southeast of Isabela City, Philippines, with a depth of 632km.

Following the incident, several tremors were also felt in several areas in Sabah, including around Kota Kinabalu, Velvet City, Putatan and the northern side of Sarawak.
