SERIAN, Feb 26: The upgrading works on St Pio Catholic Church of Kampung Semukoi B, and a longhouse in Kampung Krangan Tekalong have been completed.
In a Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) news report, Sarawak Deputy Minister for Modernisation of Agriculture and Regional Development, Datuk Martin Ben, attended the handover of both projects by the Public Works Department (JKR) Serian division on Saturday (Feb 24).
Martin later signed the completed project document during the brief ceremony and symbolically handed over the project documents to the Kampung Semukoi B village development and security committee (JKKK) secretary, Besu Minggan, as well as Kampung Krangan Tekalong longhouse chief, Kenni Jagak.
Martin, also Kedup assemblyman, inspected other rural transformation programme (RTP) projects, including the Kampung Krangan Jaya new operations room worth RM300,000 and St Patrick Krangan Catholic church, which is currently 60 per cent complete.
Martin and his delegation also observed the undertaking of upgrading works on Darul Ikhsan Mosque in Kampung Sri Menanti, for which an allocation of RM250,000 was granted. —DayakDaily
