KUCHING, Aug 25: The St Joseph’s Private Primary School Choir from Kuching has earned a Gold C rating with 80.79 points at the Malaysian Choral Eisteddfod (MCE) – International Choral Festival (ICF).
According to a media release, the choir represented Malaysia in the O1 – Young Children (Open) category, competing alongside 80 children’s choirs at the international choral event.
The young choristers impressed with a confident and enthusiastic performance, demonstrating musicality, discipline and teamwork throughout their appearance on the competition stage.
The achievement is a proud moment for the school and the young singers, as well as their teachers, conductors, parents and supporters, whose continued encouragement has helped nurture the choir’s passion for music.
The choristers were also presented with their award during the ceremony, where they gathered on stage to celebrate the accomplishment with their representatives.
Beyond the result, participation in the festival gave the young singers valuable experience in competitive choral performance while helping them build confidence and further develop their musical abilities.
