KUCHING, Feb 18: Sri Aman District’s Covid-19 advisory level has improved to yellow from orange today after maintaining 16 local cases in the past 14 days.
State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today reported that Lundu District maintained its orange status with 28 local cases reported in the past two weeks.
12 districts remained in the high-risk red zone of Covid-19 pandemic spread with total 2,157 local cases reported in the past 14 days. They are Kuching, Samarahan, Julau, Subis, Beluru, Kapit, Song, Dalat, Bintulu, Kanowit, Miri and Sibu.
Sibu topped the list with highest number of local cases at 1,067 in the last two weeks followed by Kapit (213), Bintulu (139), Subis (134), Song (118), Miri (111), Julau (75), Kanowit (65), Dalat (62), Beluru (59), and Kuching and Samarahan (57 each).
There are 15 districts categorised in the yellow zones namely Bau, Matu, Selangau, Betong, Saratok, Sarikei, Sebauh, Lawas, Bukit Mabong, Tatau, Pakan, Serian, Belaga and Meradong with a total of 84 local cases reported in the last 14 days.
Of the 40 districts in Sarawak, 12 districts are in the safe green zone with zero cases namely Daro, Simunjan, Lubok Antu, Telang Usan, Asajaya, Limbang, Tanjung Manis, Tebedu, Mukah, Pusa, Kabong and Marudi.
Meanwhile, Sarawak reported two Covid-19 fatalities in Sibu while 200 new covid-19 positive cases were reported statewide with Sibu registering 120 cases, Kanowit (22), Kuching (17), Sebauh (11), Bukit Mabong (11), four each in Kapit, Miri and Sri Aman, Bau (3), and one each in Bintulu, Betong, Julau and Subis.
This thus increased the State tally of positive cases to 7,425 and death toll to 67. — DayakDaily
