KUCHING, Jan 9: The Sarawak Research and Development Council (SRDC) is focusing its research and development (R&D) on three major projects, namely; Sarawak Infectious Disease Centre, Sarawak Science Centre, and Sarawak Micro Semiconductor Design (SMD).
āOur main role is to monitor and give direction in R&D, especially in the field of science and technology,ā SRDC general manager Dr Peter Morin Nissom was quoted as saying in a report by TVS.
He said this after paying a courtesy visit on the Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, today.
According to him, Tun Wan Junaidi also supported the effort and shared his experience during his time as Minister of Natural Resources and Environment.
Peter said the project was important to ensure the sustainability and economic development of Sarawak through scientific innovation.
He hopes that the move can have a big impact on the development of this region and strengthen Sarawak’s position in the field of technology and innovation.
Meanwhile, Peter also hailed the upcoming Sarawak Science Centre as Sarawak’s latest tech landmark.
He pointed out that the centre will be a hub for technological learning and innovation in addition to serving as a reference point for various scientific studies.
