KUCHING, Oct 21: The Sarawak government will build three more local council buildings, one each for Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC), Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) and Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) in the future.
In disclosing this, Minister for Local Government and Housing Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian in a social media post said Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg has approved the project.
“Looking forward to more public facilities for people’s city hall.
“Three more council buildings with people centric public facilities have been approved by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, with the appointment of consultants and an open tender soon,” he said in a Facebook post yesterday.
Dr Sim, was making a working visit to Miri city yesterday to check on the progress of the new Miri City Council (MCC) building.
He added that the new building, which will become the latest iconic landmark of Miri city will be officiated by Abang Johari next month. — DayakDaily
