KUCHING, July 26: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg today brushed aside social media comments praising his leadership and jokingly suggesting that he be “lent” to other states, saying his focus remains solely on Sarawak.

“There are many comments on social media. Some said, ‘I wish you can lend your Premier to us’.

“They want to borrow me too. Sorry-lah (sic). I am here only to focus on Sarawak and to take care of Sarawak,” he said in a recording of his speech later shared with DayakDaily.

Abang Johari said every state had its own challenges and should chart its own path in addressing issues faced by its people.

“If you have problems, that is your matter. Arrange your own affairs,” he said.

He said Sarawak’s achievements were the result of collective efforts by its people, adding that everyone had a role to play in the State’s progress.

“But Sarawak today, everyone is a star,” he said.

Abang Johari then referred to the State’s football legacy, mentioning the iconic Ngap Sayot Sarawak team as an example of Sarawak’s identity and spirit. — DayakDaily
