KUCHING, July 26: Daeloniel McDelon Bong, better known as ‘Kilat Boy’, delivered a special Sarawak Day present by defeating Thailand’s Kitidech Hirunsuk via the judges’ decision in the Fury Championship Vol. II at Karisma Arena in Seremban on Saturday (July 25).
According to the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), the victory came after a hard-fought contest in which both boxers exchanged attacks throughout the bout.
However, Kilat Boy’s consistent performance and tactical control impressed the panel of judges, who awarded the win to the Malaysian representative.
Throughout the fight, Kilat Boy displayed a high level of discipline by controlling the pace of the bout while landing accurate punches despite facing strong resistance from his opponent until the end of the contest.
The achievement further strengthens Kilat Boy’s standing as one of Malaysia’s increasingly prominent professional boxers on the international stage, while also proving his ability to compete consistently against challengers from abroad.
More significantly, the victory, achieved in conjunction with the Sarawak Day celebration, served as a proud gift to the people of the State as the Sarawak-born boxer continues to bring honour to Malaysia on the international professional boxing stage.
