Song now Covid-19 red zone after 53 local transmissions detected

KUCHING, April 21: Song district has today been classified as a Covid-19 red zone after registering 53 local transmission cases in the past two weeks.

Following Song’s new status as a Covid-19 red zone, the total number of districts classified as red zones has risen to 22, while those in orange zones have decreased to three districts.

The districts which have been classified as red zones are Song, Tatau, Sri Aman, Bukit Mabong, Belaga, Kanowit, Selangau, Saratok, Subis, Matu, Mukah, Sarikei, Beluru, Samarahan, Serian, Julau, Meradong, Kuching, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Sibu.

There are only three districts classified as Covid-19 orange zones, namely Betong, Sebauh and Marudi.

The 11 districts that are classified as Covid-19 yellow zones are Kabong, Asajaya, Pusa, Bau, Dalat, Daro, Lubok Antu, Tanjung Manis, Pakan, Tebedu and Limbang.

Meanwhile, there are only four districts which maintain their green zone status and they are Lawas, Telang Usan, Lundu and Simunjan.

An area that registers 41 cases and above within 14 days is classified as a Covid-19 red zone. If the cases are between 21 to 40 cases, the area will be termed as a Covid-19 orange zone and between 1 to 20 case, a yellow zone.

An area with zero Covid-19 cases is a Covid-19 green zone. — DayakDaily
