MIRI, May 19: Sibuti Member of Parliament (MP) Lukanisman Awang Sauni said grassroot support is a key element for Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) to win the coming state election.

When met at the breaking of fast event with Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Piasau and Senadin branch members on Saturday, he said GPS and its component parties should stick together, giving their support to Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg’s struggle to fight on issues such as the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).

“As PBB members, give your full and undivided suppot to our Chief Minister,” he told those present.

He said, PBB, lauded as “the backbone” of GPS, hence, must be ever ready for the coming election to ensure the party’s success.

Also present at the event were PBB Piasau chairman Councillior Sardon Zainal and some 100 members from both Piasau and Senadin PBB branches.

On another matter, Lukanisman welcomed the proposal for the federal government to reinstate the Parliamentary Services Act 1963.

“It is a good effort made by the federal, as we see it can restore Parliamentary integrity,” Lukanisaman said. — DayakDaily
