KUCHING, April 5: A Bidayuh soldier bled to death after he was stabbed by his wife at their residence at Penrissen Camp here yesterday.
Kota Samarahan police chief DSP Sudirman Kram said the incident was believed to be caused by a fight between the victim, 28, and his wife around 10.30pm.
Sudirman said the wife started threatening the soldier with a kitchen knife before the victimās left thigh was stabbed, causing a lot of bleeding.
āThe victim who lost a lot of blood was rushed to Sarawak General Hospital (HUS) for treatment.
āHowever, the victim was pronounced dead by medical officers at the hospital,ā he said in a statement today.
The 24-year-old suspect was detained at the Kota Samarahan Police Station lock-up for further investigation.
Also seized was a kitchen knife and the suspectās clothes worn during the incident.
The couple is understood to have a child together.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code as a murder case. ā DayakDaily
