SME Association of Sarawak urged to promote awareness of State assistance, initiatives

KUCHING, May 4: The SME Association of Sarawak has been urged to help in disseminating information on the State government’s assistance and initiatives as well as communicate valuable feedback needed to improve policies and strategies.

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan raised this during during a courtesy call by a delegation from the SME Association of Sarawak at his office at Wisma Sumber Alam here today.

Headed by association president Dato’ Seri Charles Voon, the one hour meeting included the discussion of current issues affecting small and medium enterprises in Sarawak.


Awang Tengah, who is also Minister of International Trade and Industry, Industry Terminal and Entrepreneur Development, emphasised that it is important for the SME Association of Sarawak to assist in disseminating information on the Sarawak government’s assistance and initiatives to the ground.

“It is also important for the association to listen and get feedback from the ground.

“These inputs should be relayed back to the government to improve on strategies such as assistance and initiatives or programmes according to the current needs,” he said in a statement today.

Assistant Minister of International Trade and Industry, Industry Terminal and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais, Assistant Minister of Industrial Development Datuk Dr Malcolm Mussen Lamoh and permanent secretary to the Ministry Datu Liaw Soon Eng were among those present. — DayakDaily
