SIBU, Oct 31: Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) has cancelled its fireworks display scheduled for November 1 in conjunction with its 40th Anniversary Celebration.
The council in a statement said this is to show its utmost respect for Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing who passed away at Normah Sarawak Medical Centre, Kuching earlier today due to complications from Covid-19.
However, the council’s 40th Anniversary Celebration which will take place as planned on November, 2 at 2pm, Sibu Municipal Council’s Public Library.
The council expressed its deepest condolences to Masing’s family. — DayakDaily
