KUCHING, Oct 5: Three cars were involved in a road collision in front of a school at Jalan Stapok early this morning, leaving one woman seriously injured and five others with injuries.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) received the alert at 6.17am and immediately despatched a team to the scene.

According to a statement from the state Bomba operations centre, the cause of the collision stemmed from one of the cars spinning on the road, causing the other two cars to hit it. The accident resulted in a woman getting heavily injured. She was carried out from her car by members of the public.

Immediate treatment was administered to the victims by Bomba personnel at the scene, and all the victims were sent to Sarawak General Hospital for further treatment.

The Bomba team later cleared the scene and returned back to their station after ensuring the scene was safe for other road users. — DayakDaily
