SIBU, April 21: Eight people including six women who were caught in the middle of a Zumba session during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period were fined RM1,000 in default of 10 days’ jail by the Magistrate’s Court here today.
The eight accused, aged 23 to 50, including the owner of the premises used for the activity at Jalan Salim, pleaded guilty to the offence.
Following a public tip-off, the police arrested the group in the middle of the Zumba session on April 20. The owner was charged with allowing the Zumba session to take place in her gym.
All eight were charged under Regulation 3(2) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures Within the Infected Local Areas) Regulations 2020. — DayakDaily
