SIBU, Feb 7: A senior police officer, ASP Kushairy Bujang, passed away at his residence this morning.
Sibu District Police Chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili said the 48-year-old, who was the Head of the Patrol Team Unit (MPV) of IPD SIBU, was confirmed dead at 6.30am by the Sibu Hospital ambulance.
On Jan 26, Kushairy was admitted to the Sibu Hospital for treatment after experiencing chest pain. He was kept in the ward for five days and was discharged on Jan 30.
He breathed his last at his residence at Lorong 2, Ulu Sungai Merah.
Kushairy, who had served the police force for 26 years, will be buried at the Islamic Cemetery Jalan Kemuyang this evening.
“On this occasion, on behalf of all the residents of IPD Sibu, I would like to express my condolences, especially to the late wife Dayang Faizurah Awang Seruji, and the entire family of the deceased.
“Kushairy was a good senior officer and had a close relationship with officers, members, and civil servants of IPD Sibu,” said Zulkifli. — DayakDaily
