SIBU, June 10: More than 3,000 households in several areas here are expected to experience a 12-hour water supply interruption this Wednesday (June 12).

Sibu Water Board (SWB) in a statement today said the affected areas are along Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce, Oya 16, Jalan Undan, Jalan Cendana and along Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman (Lorong Tunku Abdul Rahman 42, Rumah Sebastian, Rafflesia Street, Jade Villa Street, Azalea Park, Sanhill Park, Sibu Airport and Eco Garden).

Also affected are Mile 13, Jalan Ulu Oya to Jalan Sibintek (including the pump booster station Batu 19 LAS), Sibu Jaya, along Jalan Durin Link to Durin Bridge.

“In addition, Jalan Nibong Tada (including the booster station Nibong Tada JBALB pump), Kemuyang Park, Rascom Camp and Rh Nari to Sibu/Bintulu Traffic Light is also affected,” the board said.

The water supply interruption is scheduled to start at 10pm and is expected to last for 12 hours.

“The water supply disruption is due to the connection works of the 450mm MSCL Main Pipe in front of the Petronas Station, Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman.

“Users are advised to store enough water for their needs throughout the period of the water supply interruption,” SWB said.

SWB will try to complete the work as soon as possible and water supply will gradually recover in the affected area.

If the weather does not permit, the work will be carried out the next day.

“Any complications that arise are deeply regretted. If you have any questions, please contact the Talikhidmat Hotline Sibu Water Board at 013-8106311,” SWB advised. — DayakDaily
