KUCHING, June 10: Kuchingites, prepare your tastebuds as Sarawakian Michelin Star-Kuching-born Chef Michelle Goh cooks up a storm at Pullman Hotel Kuching on June 30.

Goh is currently chef-patron at Mia with her husband, fellow Chef Pongcharn ‘Top’ Russell. They bagged the Michelin Star for their restaurant in December 2023.

Event organiser and culinary activist Marian Chin said that Goh represents a new crop of chefs who are well grounded in their own traditions, yet have pushed boundaries in their quests for culinary excellence.

“Her youth and simple audacity to tackle what is essentially a man’s world is an inspiration for all women, and an inspiration for local chefs willing to go beyond culinary mastery,” said Chin in a press statement today.

This is not the first time Chin had hosted a One-Star Michelin chef in Kuching.

In 2014, French chef Sebastien Beucher from Alsace, France, was here for a charity gala dinner apart from running workshops and training local chefs.

The dinner is organised by WhatMatters Sdn Bhd, best known for producing KINO Magazine and the LifeSpanTree brand of Sarawakian heirloom dishes. It is generously supported by Pullman Hotel Kuching.

Limited seats are available at RM600 per pax or RM6,000 for a table for 10 pax. For further inquiries or bookings, contact 012-8464614. — DayakDaily
