SIBU, Jan 9: Sibu police have yet to decide whether to offer reduction of traffic summonses through its Customer Day programme which will be held every second Thursday of the month.

“For next month’s meeting we will determine where it (Customer Day) is to be located, and whether we will determine whether there is a reduction or not, we will announce it later,” disclosed Sibu District Police Chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit when met by reporters at the Sungai Merah police station open day today.

He expressed gratitude to the public who came to the Sungai Merah police station on weekdays to settle their traffic summonses.

Stanley noted today’s programme was well received especially by those who wanted to settle their traffic summonses.

“The program concluded at 2pm today and we had 188 people who came to pay their traffic summons.

“We will meet customers not just in the community hall but at any place where people are happy to meet us,” he said. — DayakDaily
