MIRI, Jan 9: A man suspected to have mental health issues was detained after he was spotted wandering around aimlessly at a surau at Kampung Lembah Hijau today.
Concerned members of the public contacted Miri Civil Defence Force (APM) around 1.05pm after the man in his early 40’s started to interrupt villagers and curse at them for no apparent reason.
After receiving the alert, APM despatched a four-man team to the scene. They managed to calm the man down in less than 15 minutes.
He was later brought to the Psychiatric Unit at Miri Hospital for further action. — DayakDaily
