SIBU, May 17: Four students have been arrested for allegedly assaulting a student yesterday.

The four comprise two secondary school students and two university students.

Sibu district police chief, ACP Zulkipli Suhaili said they received a report from a student of a secondary school at about 8.52pm, claiming that he had been assaulted by a group of students in a parking space in Jalan Intan.

“Following an investigation, we arrested the four suspects aged between 14 to 19,” he said.

The police, he said, had also traced a 50-second video clip on social media allegedly showing the assault.

“We advise the public not to viral the video as it might disturb public peace,” he advised.

The case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation and Section 323 of the same Code for voluntarily causing hurt. — DayakDaily
