SIBU, Aug 3: Quick action by the police led to the arrests of two men following the gunning down of a 46-year-old man on Monday night (July 31).
Sibu District police chief, ACP Zulkipli Suhaili however declined to reveal where the two suspects were arrested.
“They were arrested on Tuesday night. After that they were brought to the court the next morning and were remanded for seven days until Aug 7,” he said today.
Their remand was to facilitate police investigation into the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
Zulkipli said a post mortem conducted on Tuesday on the victim concluded that the victim died from eight gunshot wounds.
The victim who has been identified as Pang Neng Hua was shot at close range at the gate of his family’s orchard at Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman on Sunday night.
Pang and two friends, aged 46 and 36, had earlier at about 9.30pm went to the orchard to eat.
At about 11.30pm as they were about to leave, two men showed up and started firing at them.
Pang’s family members and two friends rushed him to the hospital but he succumbed to his injuries. — DayakDaily
