Sibu Jaya public library closed for sanitisation until May 21

SIBU, May 19: The public library in Sibu Jaya has been ordered to close from today until May 21 after a staff was confirmed positive for Covid-19.

The staff had contracted the illness due to exposure to a Covid-19 case.

Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC) chairman, Sempurai Petrus Ngelai who revealed this in a statement also wanted all council staff and councillors who had attended the council standing committee meeting via Zoom from the library on May 11, 17 and 18, to take swab tests by today.

Sempurai said sanitisation work will be carried out at the library as soon as possible today.

Members of the public having any business transaction with the council must comply with standard operating procedures (SOPs), he added.

To the public, he said: “We seek for the kind understanding and appreciate your cooperation for the sake of safety and wellbeing of the general public and council. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.” — DayakDaily
