KUCHING, March 7: The Sarawak Institute of Arbitration and Dispute Resolution (SiADR) will host a seminar titled ‘CIPAA 2012 – The Need for Reform Having Regard to Jurisdictional and Other Issues’ on March 15, 2025, at the Auditorium, Kompleks Belia dan Sukan Sarawak.

This seminar will delve into key topics such as adjudicator jurisdiction, legal representation, Final Account claims, and the impact of Conditional Payment Clauses under the Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act 2012 (CIPAA 2012).

Featuring the distinguished Justice Dato Lee Swee Seng, Judge Court of Appeal Malaysia, this event is essential for anyone seeking clarity on construction dispute resolution and its evolving legal framework.

A seasoned legal expert, Lee graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Malaya and obtained his Master of Laws thereafter.

He also holds an MBA degree from the University of Southern Cross, Australia.

With over three decades of experience, including roles as a Judicial Commissioner of the High Court of Malaya, and Judge of the Construction Court in Kuala Lumpur, he brings unparalleled insights into construction dispute resolution.

He has presented numerous papers and spoken at seminars and conferences on corporate and securities law, intellectual property, franchise and competition law, mediation, contractual disputes and many other topics.

Lee is a trained advocacy trainer with the Malaysian Bar and has conducted numerous courses on this subject.

The seminar would be held on March 15, 2025, at the Auditorium, Kompleks Belia dan Sukan Sarawak, from 9am to 12pm. Fees for the seminar are RM50 for members, RM60 for non-members, and complimentary for students.
