KUCHING, March 7: An electrical short circuit led to a minor fire in the Nuclear Department laboratory at the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) today.
According to a Fire and Rescue Department report, an emergency call was received at 5.19am, and firefighters from the Batu Lintang station were deployed.
Upon arrival, the operations commander noted that the incident occurred due to overloaded electrical wiring. The incident caused the Laboratory of Food Safety and Quality to sustain 10 per cent in damages.
However, the building’s structural integrity was not affected, according to the report.
A fire extinguisher was used to put out the fire. — DayakDaily
